Secret Dynamic Character Sheets?

Simple question my good ladies and gentlemen,

I have constructed a number of characters using the dynamic character sheets for my campaign, some of these characters are however currently secret from the players. Now the problem comes that I would like to reveal these characters as the players meet them, but withhold the statistical information that comes with the Dynamic Sheet.

So what I am looking for is a way to reveal just an NPC's Description and Bio, while having the dynamic character sheet hidden until they know the character better.

Many thanks in advance,

My friend fought with it all day yesterday. I came home, worked several hours putting my sheet together and then got the same message. I have sent a help message, but wonder if anyone else has had this experience and has any advice or solutions. I want to use this system. I like the way it work, except for this.

Here is the code I'm using.

.adventure-log-index .post-header-container {background-color:transparent;}

.adventure-log-index .adventure-log-post {background-color:transparent;}

.post-date {background-color:#724e1c;}

.adventure-log-post{background-image:url('https://db4sgowjqfwig.cloudfront.net/campaigns/146844/assets/644352/Parchment2.jpg?1474767530'); background-repeat:no-repeat; background-size: 100%; box-shadow: 0em 0em 1em 0em black;}

The line bolded is not working.

some of the css I wrote and others I found from other forum posts. I'm not sure where they found the class adventure-log-index as looking at the code I couldn't find that. Some of the other classes I wasn't seeing looking at the source so if anyone knows a cheat sheet of classes that are used but not in the code I'd love to be pointed in the direction on how to find that.

Talking about not finding that class I cannot alter the wiki pages because of this.

.wiki-index .post-header-container {background-color:transparent;}

.wiki-index .wiki-post {background-color:transparent;}

The 2 lines above do not work to get rid of the white background behind them. I tried using the adventure-log lines just altering adventure-log to wiki thinking it may be the name of the page type but that wasn't it.

I was hoping on a youtube tutorial on stylizing the pages but only minecraft comes up when searching. I've done a decent amount of css but I have always been able to make my own classes or ids to stylize so this is a little more difficult for me.

Thanks in advance.

I've been trying several things even code snippets from the forums but nothing seems to work. Right now I'm playing around with trying to replace the white box on my front page with an image of parchment.

Here is the code I tried

input[name="description"] {

background-image:url("https://db4sgowjqfwig.cloudfront.net/campaigns/146844/assets/644067/Parchment.png?1474698791");

}

Obsidian portal did not like the this and deleted it all. Instead of using the input command I've tried both .description & #description as well to see if name acts as an id or class instead. I've never worked with the name attribute as I only really deal with HTML5 and CSS3. So any help to get either thing on here to work would be great. I just need some code that works on my site. Since the code I find other people use for adding or tweaking images doesn't work for me. i did manage to tweak my character page with some code I found but again the images did not work so I deleted the code since it didn't fully work for me.

I've tried

.op-icon-book-wiki::before { content:url("https://db4sgowjqfwig.cloudfront.net/campaigns/116780/assets/640266/Tree.png";); }

I saw in the forums one guy used to replace the icon next to wiki with the imaged link. It saves on my css area but doesn't show any changes when I view my site.

Any help is greatly appriciated.

Thank you.

Hi forum,

I've been experiencing some odd behavior that I wanted to ask about.

The first: I wanted a link to my campaign's wiki page from my front page. By all appearances my wiki page is "main-page" but when I do a link like [[main-page | wiki]] it wants to link to wikis/main-page/new instead of wikis/main-page -- is there a way to fix this other than making it a straight hardcoded URL?

The second: I'm getting some formatting weirdness with nested lists.In the wysiwig editor I just have a bullet then some subbullets and it looks correct. When I 'preview' it also looks correct. When I save though I get a "
" tag between my first and second
. That is, in WYSIWIG's source window and preview I get this:

<ul>
<li>
ipso
<ul><li>facto</li></ul>
</li>
</ul>

And after saving I get this:

<ul>
<li>
ipso
<br>
<ul><li>facto</li></ul>
</li>
</ul>

... Which makes no sense to me whatsoever. What's going on!?

Thanks!

Is there a way to change the URL of an adventure log entry? I tend to start a post out as a draft and then come back to it later to flesh out and finish and that's usually when I come up with a title. Just noticed that my latest logs say "...obsidianportal.com/posts/tba" and "...obsidianportal.com/posts/insert-title". Whoops.

If there's a way to change it I'm missing it. If not the only thing I can think of is to delete the log entry and reenter it with the proper title from the beginning. One would lose comments this way but the posts in question don't have any yet so no loss there.

Is there a way to create a floating "stickied" back-to-top image link on Obsidian Portal? The tutorials I've seen on-line all seem to require Java in the CSS, which apparently isn't allowed. Any tips would be appreciated. THanks in advance!

I'm still having weird issues with the "Basic D&D 5e" sheet. Most of the saving issues from last week seem to be fixed, except for the racial and class trait columns. My players and I can add fields to these columns, but now we can't delete them. This happens in a few different ways:

1. You can delete the field while editing. After you save, it will still be there anyway.

2. When you click the X to delete a field, it deletes the field below it instead. After you save, it will still be there anyway.

3. The X button in edit mode simply does nothing.

The system also randomly inserted a few fields in the middle of one that we were working on that just say "null".

I wanted to check before submitting a ticket, in case this is already a known issue. Thanks!

We roleplay in a custom setting that my husband and I created. We have a couple of decades of info that we want to turn into a manageable wiki. We have an entire world book floating around, with custom classes, races, continents, etc, we're just looking for a way to make it easier to manage and navigate for us and our players. Is this a tool that's robust enough for that?

 Ok so I'm a fairly new DM with an equally new party. We played pretty heavily a few years ago (4e) but have just recently started playing again. I have a home brew going that for the first 3 levels was basically a tutorial to get accustomed to the rules. We've played one game in the open world since then but the party has no true bond and I see them all wanting to go in their own directions.

 I'm hoping for ideas on how to rope them in and get them to create their parties bond (ie Critical Role) The intention is to get them to create this themselves. Currently at lvl 4 there is a cleric, paladin, ranger, thief, and a warlock. All unaligned. Met in a tavern blah blah blah.

 I have tried to talk them into coming up with their own story in meta but that's not working. Some players were really into developing their characters but seem too set in their own personal intentions to care about party development.

Any tips to get me started in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

I've been having problems with my character sheet where parts of the data I enter get deleted. This has happened several times with the most recent time my entire charms section got erased.

I was adding a new charm and it saved. I went back to add in the rollover text, which worked ok. Then when I went to look at another character sheet and back to my charms, they were all deleted.

Has anyone else had these problems or know? I'm not too excited about adding in all that data once again.

Thanks,

All right, if anyone can lend me some code to solve this issue, I'll reciprocate with a like, unless I already like you, then I guess, I'll pay it forward? Anywho.

Note on my pages that I have an effect that fades the pics slightly so they look "old" on ye olde parchment background until you hover over them. The code I use for that is this, and I can't remember who I ripped that off from.

/* IMAGE STYLING */
.main-content img {filter: sepia(25%) opacity(80%); transition: all 0.3s ease-in-out;}
.main-content img:hover {filter: sepia(0%) opacity(100%); transition: all 0.3s ease-in-out;}
.main-content a img:hover {filter: sepia(0%) opacity(100%); transition: all 0.3s ease-in-out;}
.main-content img usemap:hover {filter: sepia(0%) opacity(100%); transition: all 0.3s ease-in-out;}

I think the last line was my last attempt to solve the problem I'm asking about right now and currently does nothing. That is, my image maps behave like images, in that they pop to 100% opacity when you hover over them, except when you hover over a link within the image. And to me that just seems dumb. I want the image maps to either a) stay faded unless you hover over a link) or b) be faded until you hover over them and then become say 95% opaque, and then pop to 100% when you hover over a link. Is there any way I can make them behave?

PS: Bonus if I can get the maps on my map page to be an exception to all my image fading nonsense entirely. I can't seem to make them an exception to the rule.
