It seems none of my old code works anymore and even in the pinned posts in this forum are broken? I probably missed where this was talked about but any help or direction would be helpful!

So I've been running games on OP for a long time now, and only just now looking into styling the page a little more in depth since my favorite game went public on here and I want it to look good for anyone who wants to see.

I have two principle questions.

1. How do I make a background image that will actually be viewable behind the text boxes and stuff of OP, I've found a peice of art through Google Images that I really like, I even have it uploaded in my background areas but when I save the image as background I can't see it, it just stays a flat color background, it shows up as the banner in the corner when I throw it in that media area, but not background. Hopefully someone can help me with that.

2. How do I change the names/ remove any of the buttons on the menu guide. I never use media library, and I want to rename the wiki to something else, as well as the calendar. And I'd like to know how people edit those since I know I've seen games that have them changed.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

I have also gotten it to hide most of the navigation links I don't want players having access to on every page but the "Dashboard" Is there a way to hide Nav Links on the player dashboard page as well? Or make it so that the "Home link at the bottom of the page doesn't send them there?

This is my Nav Menu on most pages.

Achieved via this code:

@#campaign-nav .dashboard-main-nav {display:none;}

#campaign-nav .front-page {display:none;}

#campaign-nav .forum {display:none;}

#campaign-nav .calendar{display:none;}

#campaign-nav .file-docker{display:none;}

#campaign-nav .characters{display:none;}

#campaign-nav .maps{display:none;}@

But it looks like this:

On the Dashboard page.

Hi.
When there was an option to add a Domain to the Campaign I used it because I already had one.

The Problem is that if someone now logs into his account to open the campaign he will be sent directly to: "https://echoes-of-war.de/dashboard#" which of course does not exist and will most likely trigger a security warning, because of the https.

When going back and trying something else like clicking on "Home" I will be send to "sw-echoes-of-war.obsidianportal.comdashboard" which of course will also be not available.

When I tried to remove the Domain from the Campaign I found out that the option has been removed.
So I am stuck with the problem because it seems to still be active, but unchangeable for me.

Has anyone else have problems like this and can tell me how to get rid of this?

I get that wiki's are designed so that many people can edit them in a live environment, but most that I have used have the ability to restrict editing of certain pages or by certain people/IPs. My question is can I do this with my campaign wiki? I'm all for letting players do some of the work, but at the same time I do't want them to be able to accidentally or intentionally delete or change something that I've worked days weeks or months to build. Any help would be appreciated.

CSS Shenanigans

Some interesting CSS tidbits from my labors tonight. I leave them here to do with as you will.

Examples of all 3 can be found "here":https://twilight-of-the-north.obsidianportal.com/.

h1. Custom Cursor

To set a custom image as the cursor in your campaign. Note you could use a different image in the second line if you wanted one that changed (such as a glow or something) when hovering over links.

@/* CUSTOM CURSOR */
.campaign-public-layout {cursor: url('https://db4sgowjqfwig.cloudfront.net/campaigns/81241/assets/545551/cursor.png?1452568475'), default;}
.campaign-public-layout a:hover {cursor: url('https://db4sgowjqfwig.cloudfront.net/campaigns/81241/assets/545551/cursor.png?1452568475'), pointer;}@

h1. Image Filters

Some automatic filters applied to all images in the campaign to help them all blend together and into the parchment background. Note images that are links will become fully vivid if you hover on them.

@/* IMAGE STYLING */
.main-content img {filter: sepia(15%) opacity(85%); transition: all 0.3s ease-in-out;}
.main-content a img:hover {filter: sepia(0%) opacity(100%); transition: all 0.3s ease-in-out;}@

h1. Combined Background and Border Images

If you've got a partially transparent border image, you can combine that with a normal background image to make some cool overlapping effects.

@
/* PARCHMENT BACKGROUND WITH STYLED BORDERS */
.campaign-public-layout .main-content {background-image: url('https://db4sgowjqfwig.cloudfront.net/campaigns/81241/assets/360428/parchment-background-03.jpg?1408555806'); background-repeat: repeat-y; background-size: 100%; box-shadow: 0em 0em 1em 0em black; border-image: url('https://db4sgowjqfwig.cloudfront.net/campaigns/81241/assets/545582/page_border.png?1452575364') 146 143 135 123 round; border-image-width: auto; border-image-outset: 22px;}@

EDIT: Note that so far I've only been testing in Firefox, so I can't yet vouch for appearance or behavior in other browsers.

So a few years ago I came across a discussion thread in the WotC forum in which a user posted the stat blocks they'd made for the 4ED Gods. It was called Epic Solo Updates: The Gods Project. As you probably know WotC took down those websites when 5ED came out and my lack of foresight prevented me from getting screenshots of the stat blocks. I was wondering if anyone here ever read it and maybe saved a few? I have one of them, here's the link. (If you cannot see the image tell me and I'll fix it.)

Thank you in advance . . .

Most of my Portal is looking acceptable. Where I am stuck is with the NEW Wiki Page and NEW Adventure Log Post backgrounds. I want those pages to be transparent as well.

http://swlotl.obsidianportal.com/

So here's my CSS:

.flame-dragon {display: none;}

.post-section, .campaign-landing-page-container, .adventure-log-post, .post-date, .post-header-container, .character-list-item, .character-quick-search, #character-details, .map-placard { background-color: rgba(0,0,0,0.0) !important; color: yellow; }
.adventure-log-new-container { background-color: rgba(0,0,0,0.0) !important; }
.overflow-fade-out { display:none; }

.campaign-public-layout .main-content h1, .campaign-public-layout .main-content h4, .campaign-public-layout .main-content h6 { color: yellow; }
.campaign-public-layout .main-content h2, .campaign-public-layout .main-content h3, .campaign-public-layout .main-content h5 { color: orange; }

P.ccrlttl { text-align: center; font-family: Franklin Gothic; font-weight: bold; }
P.ccrlbdy { text-align: center; font-family: Franklin Gothic; font-weight: normal; }

EDIT: Any help with any unnecessary redundancies in my CSS is most appreciated, as well.

I wanted to start this thread to help out those in our community who love being part of our community, have not made the step to becoming an Ascendant member yet, and who want to still make a KILLER campaign site.

Just wanted to create an area for those who use Obsidian Portal for free can share their campaigns, and share ideas they did to make their site look pretty cool. So if you are a non-Ascendant member and have a site you'd like to brag about, feel free to post it here and tell us what its all about.

If you are a genius coder...I know who y'all are...and you have some work arounds for the novice non-Ascendant member SHARE YOUR ASGARDIAN KNOWLEDGE here! We know its not the most sleek way of doing things. (CSS saves so much time!) But I have seen some pretty cool stuff in this community with work arounds. Remember that a non-Ascendant member would only have access to inline code. So, come and share some ideas!
