I'm kicking off a HERO system campaign. The software for the HERO system is HERO Designer. It creates the character sheets in HTML so that when I click on the file, it opens a window within my web-browser and the character sheet formatted to fit. I'd like to have those accessible through the character section for the campaign. Is there a way to have that? (FWIW, I do know there is a dynamic style sheet available for HERO, and it looks great, however, I'm not looking to create a character with Hero Designer and then retyping out all the info again for the style sheet.) Anyhow, is there any way to put what already uses my web browser to show the characters and put that on Obsidian Portal?

Hey gang!

I'm working on my character page... again... (still?!). I'm using my slightly modified version of Kallak's character page. I'd like to place an overlay over a few specific characters, either a skull and cross bones image, or a "RIP" text overlay, to indicate dead characters. Any ideas? I've been scouring the web for the last few hours, and everything I find demands some change in the HTML. wompwomp.

"The page":http://morwindl.obsidianportal.com/characters
The general code:
@
.character-search-area {opacity:0.2; left:14px; top:6px;}
.character-search-area:hover {opacity:0.8;}
.character-index .character-info .tags-list, .character-index .character-list-item .game-content-image, .character-index .character-list-item .character-info .right-side-fade-out,.character-index .character-info div:first-of-type div:first-of-type {display:none !important;}

.character-index .character-list-item-container {position:relative !important; width:163px !important; height:163px !important; display:inline; clear:none !important; color:transparent; margin-bottom:6px; margin-left:3px; margin-right:3px;}

.character-index .character-list ul {padding-left:27px;padding-right:1px;}

.character-index.campaign-public-layout .character-list-item .character-info, .character-index .character-list li {padding:0px !important;}

.character-index .character-list-item.gm-only .character-info {border:5px solid !important; border-color: #CD853F #B22222 #8B0000 #A0522D !important;}
.character-index .character-list-item.npc .character-info {border:3px solid; border-color: #808080 #2F4F4F #000000 #696969; opacity:1;}
.character-index .character-list-item .character-info {text-align:center !important; background-size:163px, 163px; background-repeat:no-repeat; height:163px !important; width:163px !important; border:3px solid; border-color: #388DFC #1279FF #006EFF #2483FF; opacity:.5;}
.character-index .character-list-item .character-info:hover {opacity:.8;}

.character-index.campaign-public-layout .character-list-item h4.character-name {border-bottom:0px !important;}
.character-index.campaign-public-layout .character-list-item h4.character-name a {color:#dadada !important; text-decoration:none; position:absolute !important; bottom:0px !important; left:0px !important; width:163px; padding-top:138px; padding-bottom:3px; padding-left:3px; padding-right:3px; text-shadow: -1px -1px 0 #000, 1px -1px 0 #000, -1px 1px 0 #000, 1px 1px 0 #000, 2px 2px #555555;}
@

The dead NPC code: @.game-content-image[title="Emril Rillash"] + .character-info {background-image:url('https://db4sgowjqfwig.cloudfront.net/images/2466308/Emril.jpg'); border:7px solid !important; border-color: #000000 #696969 #808080 #2F4F4F !important;}
I would think the changes I would need would be in the small above block of code, but... man, I feel like a CSS noob.
I'm running into problems using multiple attributes, however.
table{border:1px solid black}.
{background:#480607;color:#ffffff}. |*BRAWN*|*AGILITY*|*INTELLECT*|*CUNNING*|*WILLPOWER*|*PRESENCE*|

This -should- show white text on a maroon background (and does on http://txstyle.org/doc/15/tables). However on OP it's only reading the first attribute and not changing the color of the text (or if I reverse it, not changing the background).

Am I doing something wrong or is this a limit within OP itself?
Thanks,

Please help with Mysteria

"https://mysteria.obsidianportal.com":https://mysteria.obsidianportal.com/

I used a template of Wolfhound’s and then adapted, inserting my own stuff. It seems to me that some of the CSS code works and some doesn’t so I am not sure if I should remove all or none or just some, but the main changes I would like to make are:

MAIN LOOK OVERALL:

Use the “faded parchment” (http://cdn.obsidianportal.com/assets/177083/Paperbacklight.jpg(Paperbacklight)
background as the backing for the text in the central section, which is currently white, and use a darker brown colour for the actual background that appears on the left and right bars supporting this. I like my previous insert, Dark Brown Scratched Wall (http://cdn.obsidianportal.com/assets/177039/Brown_Grunge.jpg(Brown Grunge) for this but the original image was 585 x 439 px and the Info under the BACKGROUND DROP function recommends a minimum of 1000 x 800 px so I am also fine with using another dark brown background if my preference doesn’t work. Hopefully, that should enable the light coloured text to be seen better.
(Possibly have the central text block widened but this is not serious. I have currently set the width on the CONTENT MAX WIDTH as 1700).

On most pages (apart from FRONT WIKI PAGE), I like the new Fonts but if the page is now FADED PARCHMENT instead of white, I would prefer the text to be very dark brown instead of black, with the LINKS being a light brown colour, possible changing to orange or red on hover/click.

I love the new Character Page exactly AS IS and would not change it other than the darker background as described above.

Individual Wiki pages should look as they are but on FADED PARCHMENT instead of white, juxtaposed with DARK background as described above and font colours changes as described above.

Calendar page should follow this trend, as well as maps and items (i.e. darker background only). I had not made any adjustments to ADVENTURE LOG style as we had not started playing, but would generally like to keep the same feel throughout.

Forum pages look fine as they are, even with the faded parchment background, although if overall style demands darker background that is also cool, so long as text can be read easily.

PLAYER CHARACTER DSTs: The new fonts on these are much better. I would still prefer them to be on FADED PARCHMENT (rather than white), with dark brown background (in line with other pages).

FRONT WIKI PAGE:

I had originally copied a WOLFHOUND design of identical pictures, three in a row, with Text in each one that provided a link to the WIKI Pages. I would now like to keep this positioning but I wish to substitute a different picture for each link. (I can replace MOCKUP pictures at a later date when style is arranged). I don’t mind too much about any suggested FONT changes but I would like a definite change in colour on HOVER. (Pictures were just SQUARE BOXES in terms of their shape).

I would like to keep the flashing Mandala and may change the TITLES: “Windows of Mysteria”, “Doors to Mysteria” and “Development” to something a little more dramatic in terms of FONT CHOICE.

IMAGES OF THE PAST:

Before the Reforge, I took snapshots of my whole CSS EDIT section, as well as snapshots of each page to show how it looked before (although I am quite into moving forward and not sticking to the old style). If those would be helpful, I can always email them to a prospective Vanguard Advisor.
My BANNER is temporary at the moment and I can easily change it later to suit layout!

Much hope and anticipation. I am really at a loss with the CSS component, having copied and pasted from template with not too much understanding of how it works.

I am trying to make custom adventure rewards for my players. For example, some players would earn 50gp and some 100gp. One player might get a wand of fireballs and the other players would not know about it,
Can I make hidden wiki posts that only certain players can see?
The general format would look like
PCs defeated the Orcs. You gained 400 gold and a pearl of power.

OK, I am positive this was possible before the reforge, but I cnanot find anything on how to do this now.

What I am trying to do is simple, I think. I'd like the Character Button from the default Menu, to redirect not to the default Character Page, but to one of my own design. Anyone know how to do this?

Thanks
Whenever I try to edit a wiki, the content box does not expand on its own and clicking on Character Link, Embed Picture, etc. does nothing but take me to the top of the page.
It worked fine a month ago, and I have been waiting a long time for help on the Help section...

I have links from my digital gaming platform to wiki / character pages in obsidian portals as hand-outs, essentially.

I leave character pages generally as-is, but the navigation + dragon + banner takes up the whole screen when I go to the base page... I'd much rather the link go directly to the relevant content. For instance, I might have this link:

http://mycampaign.obsidianportal.com/characters/whoeverNPC

and that takes some scrolling down to get to the point.

In order to get to the important content, I've included the ID "character-details" which is the closest ID built-in to where I want to start. So now the link would be:

http://mycampaign.obsidianportal.com/characters/whoeverNPC#character-details

Despite this section ID containing the Character-name title header, the links take me down so that the character name is above the screen, as it were.

Anyone have a suggestion as to how I might get the link to include the name of the character? I'm not against modifying the global CSS for the campaign, I just try to be lean on that. Plus, I'm really trying to decrease my administrative overhead for all of this. :)

Thanks for the look. My campaign is not public so the links are generic, but you can test this with anyone's base campaign.

I used to keep a campaign PDF with links, TOC, and appendix as a word document that I then would turn into a PDF for distribution (or page printing).

Well that document is about three years out of date. Because I use Obsidian Portal instead...YAY!

One of my table top 5E players only uses computers for games (long story, not the point).

So I went to print out (and I knew this but it hadn't sunk in to this level yet) a background sheet for his deity.

Such as this "Oghma":https://alfaysia.obsidianportal.com/wikis/oghma (you know where this is going right?)

Can't get it to print for crap. Its too long to screen shot...I tried various "Save as" from Chrome and Internet Explorer. I tried Evernote Clipper (which I love) but even when I get just the article...all the alignment and such is jacked.

I'm going to have to reproduce things in Word that I want printed...aren't I?

Hey guys, new to the boards and new to CSS! Please forgive my very simple questions, as I'm sure that I will have many. To start off, is there a list of classes that can be altered? I've been poking around with "inspect element" to try to figure some of them out and then using trial and error, but a list would be helpful. Specifically, I'd like to know the class to change the adventure log summary text (defaults to gray, and I cant seem to find the place to change it). Thanks!
