So I feel like I've got Heroes Unchained mostly where I want it (minus the banner, still gotta work on that piece). I have one problem that's still plaguing me though.

When I view my Front Page of Heroes Unchained in IE the main column is pushed to the right and the side bar is pushed down below.

Looks fine in Firefox and Chrome. I also took out 90% of my old CSS formatting just to make sure that wasn't it as well. Double checked my inline CSS where I call out any WIDTH as well. I *think* I got them all set to AUTO or nothing that was a huge overlapping width that would cause it to push the sidebar down.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

*EDIT:* I'm using IE 11.

I am setting up an Edge of the Empire campaign and I am doing the character sheets first. I don't like the bulky layout of the DST, so I'm doing my own. Of course, I've been trying to do them with my limited knowledge of HTML and the use of a HTML editor. One of the things that I'm also learning is how CSS works.

Basically I I am trying to find a way to reference the Ability, Proficiency, Boost, Disadvantage and Difficulty Dice symbols without having to constantly put in the HTML link. Here is my "Test Character Sheet":https://edge-of-the-empire-veil-of-darkness.obsidianportal.com/characters/test-character I've been working my way through.

Yes there are three tables in that one table, but I don't have the skills do it any other way, so suggestions there would also be helpful.
Thanks in advance.

I know this might seem like a strange request but hopefully the community might be able to help me. So I am starting a new campaign soon and need a very specific style of picture that I want to use for the front page. The campaign is a medieval urban city crawl (d&d 3.5) and so far I have been using a very dark blue color scheme for the portal. The picture style in my head is one I have seen multiple times before but, of course now that I want to use it, can not find one like it. I am looking for a long picture that sort of "pans up from focusing in on the street up towards the night sky/city skyline" if that description makes any sense.

One of the features that I liked during my brief visit here as a player a couple years ago was that the campaign we were in had its own forum where the players and GM could discuss different topics. I would think those would also have worked for a Play-by-Post (PbP) campaign, but when I look at currently running campaigns I can't see any that are running that way (maybe because as a non-player I can't see their forums?).

Our main interest in using Obsidian Portal for this campaign would be to store and organize campaign stuff for our face-to-face games, but we have one player who is only able to be here occasionally (less during the school year), two former players now in the Army, various friends who live elsewhere but might want to play, so we want to be flexible to try some other things, maybe as a parallel campaign in the same world, or just different PC group in same campaign, either using PbP or Skype or some other tools.

TL;DR: Do individual campaigns still have their own player forums, and are these suitable for Play-by-Post?

I know this must seem like a ridiculous question, but I just started working on my page and I don't understand CSS at all. I upgraded to ascendant and I've had some luck with very quick fixes, but mostly I'm just pasting code into the Advanced tab without actually understanding what the code does. Anyway I'm fumbling through this, so forgive me if the answer is very easily overlooked.

Essentially, all I want to do is edit my home page so the text box that houses my description of my chronicle is black, and the actual text is white. I would also like to remove the header that reads "Home Page" (the one with the notebook icon that you can click on to edit.) It seems like I've managed to get this last part done on accident, but sometimes the header reappears even when I don't mess with the actual advanced feature. At the moment, the only CSS I'm using in my home page edit is a div tag to change the font face to Times New Roman. I tried looking through the formatting FAQ sticky and have found a whole host of neat tips and tricks (including a way to make the ordinarily gray on white edit text-boxes white on black), but nothing that just directly explains how to change the font color.

Hi all,

New to OP and loving it so far. I'm thrilled at the character sheet feature! I'm wondering, though: there are a few NPCs (the major ones in any given campaign) for whom I like to fill out complete or almost complete character sheets. (Partially because I'm somewhat new to DMing and it's great practice, and partially because I want to make sure I get the battle mechanics right for big boss fights.)

So my question: is there any way to make a character sheet for a NPC secret? Besides using the "secret character" option, of course: the players know about the NPC I'm building now, but I don't want them to know his stats.

I suspect that this feature isn't supported, but thought I'd ask anyways. Thanks!

Okay, the whole CSS situation in Obsidian Portal is really frustrating me. It's really been two steps forward and one step back...if I'm lucky. Here is where I think I'm getting into trouble.

I'm attempting to place a repeating background image on all pages except the front page. Of course, normally this would be done with the BODY tag, but the BODY tag is already being used by Obsidian Portal and is not editable. So, you would need to use Selectors. But therein lies the problem. I'm not finding any sort of list of acceptable Obsidian Portal selectors. How are you supposed to know what Selectors to use? Maybe I can make a suggestion that someone makes a list and posts them in a sticky or something.

But luckily, Basileus has been extremely kind and gracious in helping me along. Through his efforts, he's guided me into getting the background image where it needs to be. But currently, it is applying to every page. This really isn't that big of a problem, and I can manage that. But, the Wiki and Adventure Log pages continue to have a white background over the underlying background image. How would you get rid of the white background to let the original background image shine through without using a BODY tag?

Of course, this is just the start of several questions that I have, but I'm taking it one step at a time and making sure that the layout of my page is more important than the content at the moment.

Does anyone know if there is a way to use non google web fonts?
I need to either add this:
"link href='http://serve.fontsproject.com/css?family=Nehama:400' rel ='stylesheet' type='text/css'" to the header.

or this:
"@import url(http://fonts.googleapis.com/earlyaccess/alefhebrew.css);" to my css.
The first is not possible and the second is currently not allowed.

Hey there

So, I saw "Thorvaldrs Tyellador":https://tyellador.obsidianportal.com/ amazing looking site, and am attempting to do something similar on my own. I would call my HTML knowledge solid, my graphics work maybe 3 of 10 (and yet, proud that I managed the parchment background repeat), but my CSS non-existant.

I have the graphics up and in place, I know how to manipulate the positioning to get that right. What I am trying to do is make the 'normal' white background with the little colored bar at top disappear. "My main page as example"://morwindl.obsidianportal.com

I would also like to find a way to include the title of the page and tags onto my parchment, but that may be to source of another post. "Example":https://morwindl.obsidianportal.com/characters/dm-tim

Thanks for help, cheers!

Hi.

If you look at "my index of the adventure logs":https://swtwc.obsidianportal.com/wikis/logs, you can see the broken links in red.

The pages I'm linking to show up in the search.
I build the links using the wiki link button in the sidebar.
Any time I try to build a link to these pages - the links are broken. Doesn't matter what page I put the link on.

But I can link to them directly using an absolute link. If you go to the Obsidian Portal "Adventure Log for my site":https://swtwc.obsidianportal.com/adventure-log; you can see the pages exist (Here are direct links to the very same pages "33":https://swtwc.obsidianportal.com/adventure-log/33-getting-there-is-half-the-fun, "36":https://swtwc.obsidianportal.com/adventure-log/36-morgat-1, "37":https://swtwc.obsidianportal.com/adventure-log/37-1-morgat, and "38":https://swtwc.obsidianportal.com/adventure-log/38-april-13th-2014.

Has anyone else experienced such behaviour? If so, how do I get around it?
