Hi folks! I'm a veteran DM looking to become a PBP noob.

I'm wondering if anyone can direct me to a resource for running D&D (AD&D) in a Play by Post format. I've assembled my test group but I'm hoping there are some sites or documents out there that can help me with the logistics of running D&D online without having to set up a bunch of 3rd party software.

I'm looking to run a game with a more old-school feel, so there will be low- or no-mapping and little in the way of graphics tools. Given the crowd that's signed up I expect there to be more than a bit of power-gaming and hack and slash, so I'll need ways to keep that interesting, too.

Thanks in advance!

Hey there OPers!

So I know we love to discuss ways to make our pages better, so I thought I'd chime in with something to share about adventure logs. Aside from the awesome style formatting and additions of pictures, possibly best exemplified by pages such as this: "The ork hunt, from AoL, by Arsheesh":http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaign/age-of-legends/adventure-log/the-orc-hunt , I thought it was rather brilliant when I came across Dyluth's SW: Dawn of Darkness and he had questions asked at the end. ("example":http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaign/star-wars-dawn-of-darkness/adventure-log/episode-i) That really helped by summarizing and bringing up things to think about or look for in future reads.

Well, just recently I came across Irondog's campaign The Silent Throne and his adventure logs ("example":http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaign/the-silent-throne/adventure-log/caravan-guards) have a little sidebar which provides information on the level and size of the party, the xp awarded and the treasure received. I think this is a pretty original idea, I don't remember coming across it before.

Are there any other neat Adventure log ideas you guys and gals would like to share?

At first I thought it was purely by number of fans but then I noticed that some of the campaigns above mine had fewer fans than I have (currently 15) so I assumed it must factor in activity or number of players but again some of the campaigns high up on the list haven't been updated for almost a year.

In my recent campaign my players came across a room with a bullywug intended for food for a dire wolf some hobgoblins were keeping as a pet. They killed the Hobgoblins and wolf and decided to keep the Bullywug as a companion. If they keep it with their party, which I find likely, I will let it fight as a member. This would help fill their party out as it is 3 dedicated players and one who pops in and out.

My question is, what kind of class would a Bullywug have? Options that seem obvious are Druid, and Shaman, due to the dex/wis and con options, but I have one problem with that. Bullywugs are the the red step child of nature, in fact, nature rewards you for even killing them with a free healing surge. So I do not believe that these should work being so close to nature. I also dont want to just go with fighter, as that would not be of any use to the players who already have cleric, rogue/bard, fighter, and swordmage.

Two ideas are Avenger of Avandra, due to her wayside shrines in the wild he could have came upon it and wishes to change the worlds view on his hated people and blighted lineage in hopes the intelligent Bullywugs can be accepted and not persecuted like their barbaric counterparts. An Invoker would work the same.

Another is a swamp like ranger, utilizing blowguns instead of bows and spears. This is slightly self explanatory.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Is there a way to have the content from a page show up in multiple campaigns? I have a homegrown critical chart that I would like to post in a couple of campaigns, but I would prefer to not just copy and paste the code into different Wiki pages for each campaign in case we end up changing the content at some point. I know I can just create it in one campaign Wiki and link to it in the other campaigns, but is there a way to create content separate of campaigns?

Thanks!
