Is this the right category for bug reports? The search results page isn’t properly parsing non-ASCII characters it seems, completely stripping accented letters and curly apostrophes in the example below:

The text as it should read:

La grotte des Chroniques est une grotte naturelle creusée dans une paroi à environ 1 km (0,6 mi) à l'est d’[[Uppsala]]. C'est un lieu sacré qui fait partie intégrante du rite de passage à l'âge adulte. De nombreux pictogrammes ont été peints sur les parois...

And as you can see it doesn’t parse links either. Nor any markup as far as I can tell; all of my pages that start with a heading have the "h3." showing at the front of the blurb.

One thing I would like reintroduced would be colspan for tables.

It is one of those weird things where sometimes it works and other times it doesn't. Currently if you save something with colspan it gets ignored as you can see. I have the colspan here

But when i save it and inspect the code there is no colspan.

You can see an old character here has the colspan working.

But it's not an easy and obvious thing to do a square crop, and is an extra step I would like to not have to take.

It would be awesome if uploaded maps would stay the same shape as when they were created.

So I'm like every other player and DM, and have a list of stuff I want to do for game, or to the portal, or to update a character, etc etc. And I was thinking of making just a Hidden "To Do List". But, I was at work the other day and realized that I rely heavily on sticky notes. I've got them all over my office, my house, even in my car. They're the thing that reminds me to do something, or has that tidbit I knew I would forget.

So what I'm proposing is almost a "Sticky Note" feature. It could be a button in the editing menu to place it in a unified/easy to find spot. It would create a side box, maybe a drag over pop up (like a "tool tip"), or some other easy to spot feature, that would contain those little snippets or reminders of things you want to do to that page or maybe even during a session.

I imagine it would be hidden except to the person that made it, and somehow looked up from the search. Those features are already available as you can both choose to keep something hidden, and they could automatically have the tag "Sticky" so they can be easily searched. Even as a drag over wouldn't necessarily be site breaking since "tool tips" already does this.

It's just a rough idea, and you could technically do a work around in a couple different ways. But to be able to put a virtual post it on a page when you have a quick thought, then go thru them at your convenience or when you stumble across a forgotten one, would be super convenient.

Hi, I'm new here and I've been scanning around the forums but haven't seen this topic come up as such. I'm in the process of transporting/world building my campaign to this site. I'm noticing the activity stream records everything I'm doing, ok fine, but that's also showing up for my "test player" as well.

I definitely don't want that cause the existence of certain wiki pages I'm creating is a spoiler all its own. Could we not have a feature in the basic settings of a campaign to either remove the stream completely, hide the stream from players, or at least remove/hide all GM activity from the stream for players/everyone, whatever? Or if something like this exists and I'm just blind can someone point me in the right direction?

After seeing where the dice roller was placed, perhaps something could be incorporated for Initiative or Turn Order. It would not need to be a tracker, it would really only need a text box where the GM/DM could write the turn order, and the players could click on a link next to the dice roller to get a popup and view the turn order. Roll Iniative, write the turn order into the popup, and save. If it changed, quick edit, and save, and tell everyone to close and re-open the popup. With it being a popup, they would be closing and opening fairly often anyway.

If it is just a text box, it could also be more general. Like a "Heads Up" sort of message box.

Create links to filtered character lists

I love data, lists, data analysis and being able to analyze lists.

My current campaign has a lot of characters, both PC and NPC that I would otherwise organize into a list, but even without this option Obsidian provides a great tool in tags. Each tag serves as a column in a list that I can further analyze or sort or whatever. Wonder if there's a class imbalance among characters? Easy to check. Which area is the most populous? Got ya. Need to sort out characters belonging to one group? Here you go!

THe only thing that this feature is lacking is that I can't share what I crated. Say, I do a wiki page about a ity and I want to create a link that would provide a list of all characters that live in the area. Currently I have to do it manually, but it would be so much easier if I just could create a link to the characters page with the filters I need turned on

To illustrate what I'm talking about:

And while we are on the matter of tags...

The search function is great bar one thing - you need to know the exact tag you're looking for. Like here, I know I hate a 'sept' tag but there's no indication what other tags I might have and also there's no option to search for two tags simultaneously (at least not that I know one of)

Lastly, while there is an option to search by tag, there are some issues with it:

1. There's no easy way to get to the search page other than click on a random tag which is really inconvenient. This should be a part of front page menu

2. The search page itself is created with a tag name in the address, so it's impossible to access blank search page (at least as far as I know). Would be nice to have a blank one

3. It's impossible to select more than one tag (once more) which severely limits the functionality of the search engine. It's vital to have this feature so that the engine works properly

4. And the category selections aren't saved when providing links to the page.

Here's the illustration to those points above

I'm almost sure that this feature has been already requested, but quick search gave nothing.

My campaign has several people who are contributors and not players. Currently there is no distinction between these (for a reason probably), but when it comes to scheduling games, this is a bit inconvenient as all people receive the notification, even those who are not running the current adventure but are still 'players' in Obsidian terms.

It would be nice if creating a calendar event would give the option to select the people attending from the list of all players (so if I know that certain players won't be present, I can exclude them)

All information is there, but it just doesn't work. I tried pasting it into the GM-Only section and the Accordion works fine, however.

Is this (hopefully) easily fixed? It's not the end of the world if it won't work, because I can still use the Auto Outlining to jump to the relevant sections.

Now that many of the issues have been fixed. One long overdue (and simple) feature request is the addition of various game systems to the game system list.

The last couple posts have asked for the following systems to be added

Starfinder

Gensys

Firefly

Coriolis: The Third Horizon

Without having the system added to the list, we can't create custom DST for those systems.

It kills me that I can't search from the "All Campaigns" page for campaigns or members. Unless someone on the forum has a hyperlink in their signature, or provides a direct link, there's no way to look at their stuff. Or even just to browse for something specific would make the main page worth spending more time on. It doesn't even even have to be that in-depth. If you could search "Space" or "Elves" that just at least pulls up campaign titles or systems, I feel like it would make people spend more time exploring other peoples campaigns and help spark more communication

All,

Perhaps I'm too much of a noob at page creation to be able to create a solid sidebar table or template that can be reused on similar sites. I've tried to work out the html, but the tables always align left and try to span the entire wide of the area, even when I attempt to control their size and position. It would be awesome if there was an easy way, without resorting to CSS that these could be created. If anyone has an example I can implement and play with that would also be appreciated.

I know that "Items" are pretty far down on the list as far as being reworked, but there is one that would be nice to see. When you create an item, you cannot assign it to a player. You have to actually go back and EDIT it before you can change it to being owned by someone. It just seems like an odd quark to me. Any way to get that added as an initial option? It would be cool to see what's in store for the supposed overhaul eventually, but even this small change would be really convenient.

Hello OP forums,

Apologies if this has been requested or if it is already a feature and I just don't know where to look but as a GM, I would really love a way to view my campaign(s) as my players would see it without having to make and invite another account. Does this feature exist I am just missing it?

Hi!

I'm new to the platform, and would like to apologize in advance if this is an existing feature or Ascendent only feature, but I'm considering the platform and this was the only feature that I found was lacking of and otherwise amazingly simple place to organize a campaign.

If would be GREAT if a list of every adventure log that mentions a Wiki or Character Page could appear on said page, it's not even necessary to show the log itself, just a link to it would be great, for a quick reminder of what has already happened in the past regarding this page.

Thank you for the help.

Regards,

Marcelo
