Today, all of a sudden, I am noticing some weird links on my wiki that have never been present before. On certain abritrary words, they are coloured with a double underline and when you click them they seem to take one to an advert for either Amazon or Bing.

Is anyone else experiencing this? If so, what is it all about? It's not very RPG!!!!

New adventure log posted for the site. We've been running a pretty rough and intermittent schedule but I think I have smoothed things out for now. I hope to keep the campaign going for a bit and there should be a new session every two weeks or so. I'm pretty proud of our session logs - mainly because I have some really creative players with a bizarre sense of humor and well, I like to write along with several of the players :)

A little under the hood for anyone playing FATE or the FATE based Dresden RPG. This session included a Poker game which I turned into a social conflict. It worked out pretty well for a last minute idea if I must say so myself.

Essentially, there was an Aspect of "Somebody's Cheating" at the table. With each successful attack you could shift the Aspect to someone else, turning the table's suspicions on that player. The group's poker player (and half faye gambler illusionist...) watched for a bit, saw someone get shot after being branded the "cheater" and decided to buy in. (She needed to keep someone at the table while the other players snuck into his house and stole something.)

She decided to defend against the "Cheater" aspect but focus on using her Incite Emotion ability to get the other players to trust her so they would eventually stop targetting her instead of uisng her "attacks" to pass the Cheater aspect. At one point she got tagged with "Cheater" and held on to it as she kept inciting trust around the table. This nearly caused a fight to break out when someone stood up to defend her, leading to a social "melee" between two of the players.

Things got dicey when she couldn't get the last guy at the table to "Trust" her, and he made a wickedly successful attack versus her Deceit (to hide the fact she was the branded "Cheater") which forced her to take a moderate consequence of "Under the Gun" as he dealt out a mono y mono hand while aiming a derringer at her face. She nailed it though on the attack following that and he put his gun away and the game continued.

Fun session that I think showcased what the FATE system can do. I'm starting to dig it, but still not incredibly happy with the "resources" ideas. Yeah, it shuts down the whole christmas tree affect of DnD, but it seems awkward and clunky to me. I'm getting close to shipping a new feature, versioning and comparison of wiki pages. In other words, when you save a page, the old version is stored away and you can compare the two, see the changes, and get back to the old version if necessary. MediaWiki (ie. wikipedia) has this and it's pretty handy.

I want to do some beta testing and get some feedback on it prior to making it generally available. There may be aspects to it that I'm missing, and I'd rather iron out any issues in a small setting.

*Criteria for beta tester*

* Ascendant member
* Fairly active with your campaign (adding/editing/updating wiki pages frequently)
* Desire to actually give helpful feedback
* Patience with the process

*Warnings*

This is a beta feature and it will surely have issues. There is almost no chance that it will harm your campaign, but the old page versions may get corrupted or deleted. I may choose to wipe all the old versions out (and do it many times) until I get things the way I like it. Ultimately I may decide to scrap the whole thing, although that's unlikely. Basically, what I'm saying is: don't expect to rely on this feature during the beta phase. We've gotten along without it so far, so I'm sure we can limp through a little longer.

*Timeline*

I'm hoping to launch the beta in a couple days, but we've also got a big server move looming, so it may be delayed a little. However, I want to line up beta testers now so I can get feedback as soon as it's launched.

*Instructions*

If you're interested, leave a post here with your username (which is also on the post, but we'll just see who follows directions) and a link to your main campaign. I'll probably take 5-10 people and then go from there. For anyone left out, don't worry. The basic membership is free and maxes out at 10 questions, upgrades are availible but their price scale is a bit over-valued. (If you need more than 10 question, just make a Part B, C and so on)

Thus making me wonder if anyone wanted to do a shared world.

The idea is for a new and original take on superheroes and the world they live in.

The group has been up and writing for a month now and we have a basic idea of the world underneath us. That said, it will be rather easy for anyone to step in and add their own character at any given point.

Our group right now is setting with a handful of active users and a few that are on the side lines. We're looking for creators, writers and artist. Right now sadly the work is just for fun and hopeful publication down the road.
