Hi. My name is Delite. We live in Northeast Texas and we usually only get to game outside of our personal group at DragonCon. We are wanting to build a presence of PFS in our area of Northeast Texas. I have sent an Email to Mike Brock and Jonathan Cary. I know this is short notice, but help... Here is the offer from the Tyler Rose Comic Con 2013 and Geek World.

Thank you for writing! I would be glad to have you at the con, but I do have some space constraints since we would be adding this late in the game. Here is what I can do:

1. 4pm to 8pm on Saturday for up to 8 players and a GM (private room)

2. 9am to 1pm on Sunday for up to 8 players and a GM (private room)

3. 4pm to 8pm on Sunday for up to 8 players and a GM (private room)

4. have a break out event at Geek World on Saturday or Sunday from 3pm till ? with up to 10 tables and 45 players and 10 GMs (this would be at a separate location)

5. All of, or a combination of some of the above

If you would like to do any of this, let me know asap, and get me information to post on it (i.e. what players will need to bring, short teaser on what adventure will be, etc). I hope we can make this work! And yes, I agree this should probably be free since it is a first time event.

I have three to four GMs, so one GM Saturday and Sunday is no big deal. But would like to also have some presence at Geek World. Would any GMs in your area have a problem with traveling that far to help out?

Thank you so much for your kind attention and consideration of this issue.

Delite (Luna Shadowborn)

Thank You Sincerely,

We are looking for 2-3 players in the Orange County region of Southern California who are interested in joining our weekly-biweekly tabletop group. The group currently consists of three players, the gm, and currently alternates between NWoD and Pathfinder/D&D 3.5. Meetings take place in Garden Grove on Tuesdays between 4:00-10:00pm. More information will be provided upon request but a brief description of the games is as follows:

NWoD, beginning level characters with 6-7 sessions of experience, is set within the Mass Effect universe after the events of the first game but before those of the second. The current group has been contracted by a Spectre to infiltrate the Blue Suns organization in order to get close to one of its faction leaders. We are currently working towards that goal and are on our second mission for that faction leader. Will we succeed? Join us and find out.

Pathfinder/D&D 3.5, character level 10, is set within a custom campaign setting and the game is centered on themes of adventure, horror, and intrigue. The current group is a collection of open-minded Imperialists that have become aware of the schemes of the nobles around them and have actively begun working against these machinations. Setting themselves against the Herald of the Light, will they succeed on thwarting his century old plans? Join us and find out.

We start playing next week. I'm first up to bat as GM. Any advice, anybody notice anything odd, and "two cents" comments would be welcome. New system, new setting... I don't have much to fall back on except just "general" GM experience.

This is my first post on the forum though I've been part of Obsidian Portal for a while. My Horn of the North campaign was featured a long time ago as a featured campaign of the month from way, way back, but I haven't done much actual "game running" since. Hope to get back into the saddle with Dresden.

Hi guys! (and gals)
After 3 years of continuous gaming with my Aerthria Campaign, I've made the move to OP.

I plan on introducing a new group of mature players to my realm.
The game will be played ONLINE over Fantasy Grounds 2 clients and using SKYPE for voice chat.
Players only need the free DEMO of Fantasy Grounds 2 to join in.

The game is a variant of Iron Heroes (D&D 3.5-ish)
Human dominated (Conan-style) in a fantasy setting.

The session game times are usually 2 hours each.

I haven't figured out a consistent weekly day to play, so if you are interested, post what days and times you are able to show up. And hopefully a few gamers will be able to make it at the same times.

I'm in the Pacific time zone and my Friday group games at 5pm-7pm. (1 spot open for that session as well)

You are also welcome to check out the game sessions as an observer.

The new group will start at 2nd level and will continue on for many years to come.
(and may lend to some crossover sessions with my current group of players)

The best way to make a character for this is...
1 Come up with a character concept, don't think about classes, just ask yourself what character style you like to play as.
Fighting style, weapon types, methods of combat, base of knowledge...
2 Work with the GM to figure out the class which matches the style you want.
Iron Heroes has different classes than 3.5 and these classes are defined more with their chosen traits and feats
3 Flesh out the background with the GM... my NPC's have huge backstories and so should you.
I like to work in a lot of NPC interaction and reaction, choices you make can influence the world.

My style is to give the players a mixture of adventure types, overland, towns, dungeons, temples, sea adventures, exploration...
The players really drive where the campaign goes.
I tell my players, I GM using rules of soap operas and comic book deaths.

Lastly, I enjoy GM'ing a lot, sometimes I have to break for family stuff, however I haven't left my group hanging, we always play. So don't expect me to disappear.

I'll be posting a lot now on Obsidian Portal, due to the fact that my Campaign has grown so much in scope that players needed an online encyclopedia to remind them on who and where they've been and met.

Questions? Ask away :)

I’m starting up a play-by-post Star Wars Saga game, I currently have three players already and room for more. The game is plan to run a for a year with a goal of regular posting of at lest one every day by the GM. Mature content will come up in game, not all the time but it will happen so far warning. The game will takes place during the Rebellion Era (two years after the destruction of the first Death Star) and is loosely based off the concept of Renegade Squadron (a PSP first person shooter star wars game) but the navy version of that instead of special ops. version. Player Character will be crew members of the _Wicked Kismet_ a privateering Rebel ship and will be made up of those who walk on the edge or even across the line of legal and illegal. Below is a list of character concept requirements and possible crew positions on the ship. Those interested in joining pleas send me a private message with a character concept which includes which crew positions your character will be focused on filling.

Concept Requirements

All the character will need to explain what has brought them to the shady shadow port space station of StarForge and what motivation they have for signing on with the Wicked Kismet and fighting for the Rebellion. Note along with pay, not much, a share of the prize, again not much, the Rebellion is offering a pardon for past criminal convictions upon the reestablishment of the Galactic Republic.

Crew Positions and Options

Below are two list of character position ideas/options the first list is the must fill positions for the Wicked Kismet to be at full function, the second list are optional position and ideas for characters. Note a character could possible fill more than one of these positions like say the one of the Gunner Chefs could also fill the role of Security Officer. As of right now Captain Pace can fill the role of Co-Pilot, but would rather focus on being the Captain.

Needed Crew Positions

Pilot/Gunner
Co-Pilot/Gunner
1st Gunner Crew Chef
2nd Gunner Crew Chef
Master Technician

Other Crew Positions

Communications/Sensors Specialist
Security Officer
Medical Specialist yacht

I've just started creating our site here (located below), and have been taking time to look at and follow several campaigns that are pretty impressive. The community here seems very supportive so I'd welcome any feedback or suggestions if you care to give them.

I'm currently running a Teen Superhero campaign for Mutants & Masterminds called Olympus Academy 90210. We've got Adventure logs, some wiki material and some characters so far. Our hope is to have a fully fleshed out city soon and then even open up the campaign to people for play-by-post as well.

Hi! I haven't quite gotten my campaign pages set up here yet, but we run two games in San Diego (Bonita area).

What:
We have a stable, regular gaming group that plays D&D 3.75 (Pathfinder), Shadowrun, CthuluTech, and occasionally other games/systems as they're introduced. We’re a mature gaming group, with usually a 50% - 50% split between combat and roleplaying in our games. We prize unique and interesting characters above all else, but we don’t discriminate. If your unique and interesting character is a powerhouse in combat, that’s just as good as being the bard or the diplomatic cleric.

75% of the gaming group is LGBTQ, and the remaining 25% is LGBTQ friendly, so if you’re not one of the two, this isn’t the gaming group for you.

Where:
Bonita, CA - near Briarwood and the 54.

When:
6:30p - 10:30p Thursday nights, fairly consistently, starting up in September, and 6:30-10:30pm on Wednesday nights, running immediately.

Who:
You're a gamer that prefers a mix of personal styles and an even balance of combat to roleplaying. You are willing to play while sober, and don't have a problem coming to Bonita every week. Extra bonus points if you're possibility willing to GM the occasional filler game.
Her name is Alana but on here her profile it might start as little miss or have the word homicide in it, if she has a profile pic her looks are very skinny 4'9- 5'3 she has wild hair it could be green or black anything. She also made a person called Andy and she likes the drows or elfs. If you could please e-mail at joshtillman187@yahoo.com or send me a message on this I would be very thankful, I'm very new to this so I'm not to sure how it works. I made it to try to find her.
I'm so glad I found this site. I've been perusing some of the campaigns in here and I am constantly impressed and inspired. Well done people of Obsidian Portal.

I'm 39 years old and I've been playing table top RPGs since I got my original "Red Box" D&D game in 3rd grade. Since then I've tried many other systems. My great love is world building and GMing though.

I have tons of notes on my home brewed campaign worlds going back decades. So finding this site is a great "next level" for me to hone my campaign/world building skills... And possibly an attempt to keep my PCs a little more in line and up to speed. Well, one can hope.

Anyways. I've begun on my first campaign here. Its called Hethrack Ascendant.

http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaigns/hethrack-ascendant

The campaign is set in my long running home brewed fantasy world called Drovard. There isn't much content here yet I'm afraid. Many pages are blank and most of the rest are bare bones place holders until I can flesh them out later. But you might find it amusing to skim through the thin contents. And if you do, comments and constructive criticisms are more than welcome.

Thank you. Glad to be here. And happy gaming everyone.

Being a Keeper of Arcane Knowledge isn't easy. Unlike many RPGs, Call of Cthulhu is firmly grounded in the real world. Whether the venue is the Roman Empire (Cthulhu Invictus), Dark Ages (Cthulhu Dark Ages), Victorian England (Cthulhu by Gaslight), the Roaring Twenties (Classic Cthulhu), Cold War Era (Atomic-Age Cthulhu), or Modern Times (Cthulhu Now), your players not only expect to be immersed in an era of Earth’s history – they expect authenticity!

That's why I've created "Call of Cthulhu: Keeper Confidential":http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaigns/call-of-cthulhu-keeper-confidential/edit. The mission of the site is to assist aspiring and veteran Keepers in providing the best role-playing experience possible for their players. Use the Adventure Log page to introduce yourself and/or your campaign, review Call of Cthulhu scenarios, supplements, and fiction, or summarize your latest gaming session. Use the Wiki page to post era-specific handouts, artwork, and designs. Add NPCs to the Character page or Mythos Tomes/Artifacts to the Item page. Discuss all things Cthulhu on the Forums page, or add your custom maps to the Maps page.

All Keepers and levels of participation are welcome. Just comment below or send me a private message, and I'll add you to the site.

Greetings,

One of the WotC Saga mini-adventures had caught my eye and so I figured I'd try and run a beginner adventure set in "The Dark Times":

- No Force-Users....besides, The Dark Times didn't have too many Jedi left anyhow....seriously cuts down on the paperwork and hairloss!

- 100 point "pregenerated" characters (converted directly from WotC/Saga rulebooks) that default as "human". Players will be able to add 25 points to their characters any way they see fit....to simulate d20 "class feats" or a Star Wars "alien species" template, add a skill/perk, etc.

- It was originally a mini-adventure and shouldn't take long to play out....like 12 or so 3-4hr sessions at best I guesstimate.

- Set about 120 days after the events of the videogame "The Force Unleashed II", the game is based around the heroes finding and joining up with the now fledgling "Alliance to restore Republic". The REAL "Episode I" (which anyone under 30 probably calls "A New Hope") is but a few years away. The Empire is now out in the open and for some reason, a large percentage of the galaxy doesn't feel thats a bad thing. The Death Star's debut will change all that noise REAL fast! "If you haven't done anything wrong, then your world has nothing to worry about....right?" (This was almost a "Clone Wars" adventure but I figured with Disney making a "Rebels" series now with the same style of CG-animation, who wants to wait till 2014 for a fix?)

- The game would use Maptools 1.3b87 and Skype but I am considering a move to other VOIP software.

- Aim is to have one game a week at a time to be chosen by the players. (Any day but Friday!)

- The adventure was originally for 3-5 players but to be perfectly honest, I'll be happy if 2 show up!

- It WILL use Impulse Buys cinematic rules. A typical d20 adventure SMEARS most players once converted to "high realism" GURPS. Impulse Buys alleviates this issue.

All pregens were taken directly from d20 pages and then rounded out for the GURPS system. Mostly from the Saga Corebook, TFUCG, RECG and TOTG. (For those who don't speak d20, that's "The Force Unleashed Campaign Guide", "Rebellion Era Campaign Guide" and "Threats of the Galaxy" from Wizards of the Coast)

To anyone who may be interested, I can be reached here by PM.
Experience with GURPS not needed....all the footwork has been done for y'all anyways!

Included are a few of the selections available to choose from and modify. No background stories are included....those will be left to the players to devise. I shall post more (if not all) by this evening Eastern Standard Time.
Only the "Gunslinger" advantage is verbotten.
A player MAY choose "Force Sensitive" but without any other accompanying Jedi abillities, it's a waste of 5 points.
All Star Wars GURPS material is free online. Just do a Startpage search for "GURPS 4e Star Wars" and Azaroth's page will come up. Also any search for "GURPS Lite" will find you a free SJG download that details the rudamentary game system in like 12 pages or less....something like that.
Dice macros are all built directly into the tokens for ease of play.
All characters created with GURPS Character Assistant V4.
Divide all equipment costs by a factor of 10. An Imperial Credit is equal to 10 GURPS dollars inflation-adjusted for a TL11 society.
Pregenerated Characters are as follows:

I've only recently started lurking in the forums but have been on OP for about 3 years now. I have 3 campaigns on the site--a Serenity RPG, a Dresden Files RPG, and a Pathfinder RPG. I'm having a lot of fun with site--probably even more than my players!

I've been a gamer since I was in junior high back in 198-cough-cough and have played a little of everything from classic red-box D&D to my first Pathfinder campaign. I like to think of myself as a roleplayer vs. a roll-player and a definitely a sandbox-style GM. My pet peeves are cruddy dice and munchkins. My sign is cancer. I guess that's it :)

So, I've lived in Austin for 9 years now. From 2004 to 2006 I was part of a gaming groups of friends and we gamed every Sunday or Monday. Our games of choice were Star Wars d6, Rifts, Heroes Unlimited, & Exalted. The last one we only played a single campaign of, but it was enough fun that I bought a couple of the books. Since 2006 however, I have been unable to find a solid group for playing Rifts...or any Palladium Books game. And that is exactly what I am hoping to find on here, either an existing group who has room for a couple more players (namely my wife and myself). Or more ideally, a GM who needs 4 to 5 new players to create a new game all-together. The 4 to 5 players include myself, my wife and several friends of ours who enjoy Rifts in particular. We, as a group, are very laid back. We don't quibble over the rules constantly, and the times we really have to sort out rules we actually write down any home-brew modifications so we don't end up having the same discussion again later on. If anyone has questions for me, feel free to reply here or message me.

Oh, one last thing. If you are a meat-grinder-style GM who actively tries to kill characters, please don't bother responding. We have dealt with that once already, and it left a sour taste in everyone's mouth.

Thanks for reading,

We have a Heavily updated version of Iron Heroes and I am working on building a new game system based on this. We have 3 players in the group but one or two more would be perfect.

The System is posted here:

It has a lot of potential and it is heavily aimed for Skill use and Role Playing. The Spell system is still under construction and I am working to make it fun while falling inline with the rest of the system. (the original system punished the players for doing magic. this system just tries to balance it out.)

Oi,

New to O.P.
Was originally at the RPTools forums until our group became thread stalked by a disgruntled ex-player.
We moved to Epic Words but soon discovered that a good deal of those who peruse those forums do so only "accidently".
(Seriously, THEIR words....not mine....wtf?)
So, our group has now decided to try this place out in the hopes of scaring up some players for our GURPS Shadowfell campaign and a GURPS Star Wars: The Dark Times converted "mini-adventure".
I have been a player of table top rpgs since The D&D Basic boxed set was released.
I have been a GM of table top rpg since TSR released the original Gamma World as "Metamorphosis Alpha".
Have tried many gaming systems over the years including:

- D&D Basic through AD&D 3e and 4e (But not 3.5e or Pathfinder....odd isn't it?).
- Gamma World (Pretty much all of it including the latest "card enhanced" fiasco....to my eternal shame).
- Heroes Unlimited
- Champions
- Villains & Vigilantes (The system had MAJOR flaws in it but we had a lotta fun playin' THAT one).
- Marvel Superheroes (We learned it but only managed to complete one or two combats).
- Robotech
- TMNT (Meh).
- Rifts (Meh).
- Skyrealms of Jorune (Meh).
- MERPS (The critical hit tables were AWESOME!).
- Paranoia (Tried 15 times....NEVER finished a SINGLE adventure and we TRIED....LOADS of fun THAT one was!).
- Star Fleet Battles (I LOVED playing the Kzinti).
- Battletech
- Twilight 2000 (Meh).
- James Bond
- Star Frontiers
- Traveller (Pretty much all of it!)
- Universe (VERY different, but fun.)
- TSR's Boot Hill (Meh Squared).
- TSR's Top Secret (Meh Cubed).
- FASA Star Trek (Meh to the fourth power).
- Shadowrun (I STILL have a room full of d6's we used JUST for that game!)
- Star Wars d6 (Almost the last time a room full of d6's came in handy)
- Star Wars d20
- Star Wars d20 Saga
- SJG's Ogre
- SJG's Car Wars
- GURPS 1e through 4e (My poison of choice, especially since Power-Ups 5: Impulse Buys released!)

Whew....all that and I'm sure I have forgotten a few.
I currently play exclusively online with Maptools 1.3b87.
Am hoping to attract a few less "accidental gamers".
Oh, and I have no clue how to change my Avatar without going to the Avatar Art website in the process.
(THAT'S kinda annoying)
That pretty much concludes the story of me....now, please return your trays to the upright positions and fasten your safety belts.

http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaigns/austin-rpg-exploration-group

From our front page:

Tired of never getting to play really awesome games because we either didn’t have an established group or our established groups just weren’t interested, we decided to band together and be that group that will play anything. We also decided to be a group that shares GMing responsibilities so that no one feels like they are stuck in the position.

After nearly two years, we have done one-shots of Paranoia, Dread, Gamma World, Exalted, and Dark Heresy, dipped our toes into the water of Eclipse Phase and Mouse Guard, and played Aberrant, Deadlands, The Dresden Files, Apocalypse World, and Pathfinder. We are about to start playing Smallville (in space!). We have plans to explore many more.

———————-
We are looking for one or two reliable players to play on Saturday nights. We prefer players who are willing to take their turn GMing at some point in the future. A good fit will be able to have fun in any system even if it is outside their comfort zone.

If you are interested please message me and we can arrange to meet up IRL to talk and see if you’d be a good fit for us (and if we’d be a good fit for you).

Hi all! I've been using OP for a while now, but only recently became active on the forum. After the reforge kickstarter, I decided it was time to put a CSS shine on our wiki: "Autumn Dragons":http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaigns/autumn-dragons

I know some of you have already looked it over during my initial CSS and the interactive map development, but enough work has occurred that I'd like a second opinion. Our game resumes on the 22nd of this month and I'm eager to show it off.

I, painstakingly, added nested navigation bars in the wiki to simplify wiki navigation. Also, I'm considering collapsing the Adventure Log into smaller preview cells - similar to my Character and Items pages. I really wish there was a toggle for ascending/descending order on the Adventure Log.

Please let me know what you think. We are playing D&D 3rd edition with modules and campaign settings for the Dragonlance universe.

Thanks!

The name of the campaign: "Crimson Skies":http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaigns/crimson-skies Pathfinder RPG, tabletop game in East Sacramento, CA

This is a custom world of my own design, merging my own ideas with those of other published materials. Not all character types are appropriate, but there are a huge amount of options.

We lost a few players due to life, etc. and are looking for one more player. We would consider two players if they came as a couple.

We play every Friday night from 6:30 to Midnight. We occasionally get together on a Saturday for an extended session, but that has not happened in a long time.
We are just about to play our 100th session. The characters are 9th and 10th level (we play on the slow EXP track). This is an epic campaign arc (see the "campaign page":http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaigns/crimson-skies for more details).

We use a fairly large amount of "house rules":http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaign/crimson-skies/wikis/house-rules. Role-playing is a key element for us, although we do seem to have a lot of combat. We do not want anyone who is serious about RAW, I morph the rules to fit the campaign world and my DM style, and freely adjust or throw out rules that don't work for me. This is not a game for folks who are sticklers on the rules. It is a game for someone who is an active role-player and can see the big picture of the campaign.

You can look at our "Characters":http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaign/crimson-skies/wikis/characters page to see the classes we have. I don't really wish to double up on any of the major roles.

I apologize for the lack of recent Adventure Logs, but my own life has gotten more complicated, leaving less time for OP.

All new players are temporary until a probationary period has transpired (we just want to make sure that you are a good fit for the group, and visa versa). By stating this up front, we hope to avoid any hurt feelings later down the line.

If you live in the Sacramento Area, and you are interested in joining the group, or even if you have questions - send me a "PM":http://www.obsidianportal.com/profile/PhoenixMark and we can discuss it.

I look forward to hearing from you,
