What kind of music do any of you suggest to be used in your D&D sessions? I'm talkin' about in and out of combat as well as music that helps paint the picture of wherever your adventurers are. I was specifically wondering about festival and bustling marketplace music.

I'm an old-school GM who used to play a lot of RuneQuest back in the day and became a huge fan of the world of Glorantha. Now I run my own HeroQuest campaign set in the same world, a saga-style game set in the land of Sartar.

Please check out my campaign. It is not pretty: just a vanilla presentation. But I hope you like the content, particularly the adventure logs. I'd love to hear your thoughts.

After two failed games of D&D, I was pretty disinterested in the game part of roleplaying games. This would have been about 1990-ish. I was still hopeful that something would snag me and soon, my aunt married a man who, along with several of his friends, had developed their own roleplaying system called Worlds Unbound.

It was amazing. The first game he ran with me in it was a super hero game, and I was hooked. The next time I visited, he ran a murder mystery (who knew that enough nicotine would kill someone, much less that it was a major ingredient in rose food). Third was his take on Twilight: 2000. Then came a "weird west" style game (I'm sure that his home was bugged, this happened about a year before I saw Deadlands on store shelves).

All using one system that was simple enough that it was easy to push aside and concentrate on the roleplaying part of roleplaying games.

While still playing Worlds Unbound, I began to expand my RPG repertoire. AD&D second edition, the World of Darkness system, and a few more also became regular distractions. The D6 Star Wars Rolelpaying Game was always a favorite.

Third edition D&D and 3.5 led me to Pathfinder, a game of which I play in every other week. I just started running a campaign. I haven't run a RPG in +20 years. Ran them for many years. I am focusing on Fantasy Hero in a Sword & Sorcery setting (think Conan, Fafhred & Grey Mouser kind of world). Role playing is more important than combat. The story & characters are more important to me than the combat. I would say 50/50. Some sessions might be a big battle, some sessions not a single dice will be rolled for combat, and sometimes there might be a minor 'combat' as a plot device.

Right now there are just three players and myself. We are looking for 2 or maybe 3 players to join us.

I'm an Electronics Technician in the U.S. Navy, currently stationed in Oklahoma (Don't get me started on the irony, I can make bad jokes about it all day.) My gaming experience spans decades, beginning in the late 80s with Cyberpunk, Battletech, Shadowrun, and AD&D 1st edition, and I have evolved from there, adopting many systems along the way. I am more of a Marvel-fan than a DC one, but I have a few basic premises that I'd like to test out. If anyone else would like to play let me know.

X-Men: The players are all mutants at Xavier's school, where they are being pulled between the forces of Xavier and Magneto. Or the players could play humans that are tied to the mutant side of the marvel verse (Bolivar Trask, Senator Kelly)

Parkerville: Similiar to Smallville, only this game will be about a young Peter Parker coming to grips with his amazing powers. The players could play either Peter Parker or any of his friends or eventual villains (or any Marvel character really).

These are just the bare bones of my ideas and would develop together with the players. The campaign is a homebrew fantasy where the characters are embroiled in wars across three planes because of their family legacies, varied divine and political mantles, and general penchants for vectoring trouble. These plots seem to be leading toward the arrival of a cosmic Devourer known as Chrysaor Abhorrent- and its aberrant brood have been laying discord and lighting guiding markers throughout earlier levels. The party's goals thus far have been preserving innocence and restoring balance, but have recently turned more cosmic in scope. They seek to eliminate the terrestrial squabbling and unify Creation by way of their various influences and alien technology in order to combat this impending doom.

One party is known as the Dark Three, and consists entirely of vampires (homebrew race) working on assassinations, spying, black magic, manipulating, and politicking. The other party consists of varied races with a heavy Primal, Elemental and Psionic bent looking to restore the balance in Nature and eliminate major aberrant, psionic and demonic meddlers.

We love our roleplaying, but we get in a fair number of combats as well. The game is mature and the player should be too (as in rated R situations... maybe a little NC-17 in there, too, so no minors).

Anything goes in the way of class and race, though it may take a little brainstorming on both our parts and I welcome a player to work with me in integrating a character. Dark group has a chaos sorceress, infernal/fey warlock and executioner assassin. Light group has a predator druid, shielding swordmage, storm sorceress, storm warden, and telekinetic psion. A brief description of your campaign and what rules system is being used:
I am looking for 2-5 players for a online play by post role playing using the newest edition of Gamma World which uses the D&D 4th edition rules. Players will not be required to own any of the rules, if a player doesn't have the rules they will have to contact me to get access to them. For character creation you will be rolling your origins and your abilities randomly. If, however, you are very unsatisfied with your origins you may petition to have one origin changed. Alpha mutations and omega tech cards will be drawn by me out of the GM's deck. Dice rolls will be made on http://www.pbegames.com/roller/ . I will be requiring a post a day, not including weekends. Exceptions will be made if a player lets me know ahead of time if they will not be able to post during a given time.
