Hârn is divided into two systems: HârnMaster with its rule system, and HârnWorld, a rich world setting that has been expanding for decades. You can use both systems, or combine with any other rule or world systems as you please. This campaign uses both HârnMaster and HârnWorld. HârnMaster similates realism, thus hit points is replaced with injuries, fatigue, blood loss, infection and hit locations. The world is set in an early medieval time with a pantheons of Gods and a touch of fantasy creatures and powerful yet rarely noticeable magic.

Life on Hârn is tough: it's a large, cold and rainy island. You are surrounded by beasts from the wilderness, aggressive barbarians and distant kingdoms. Everyone are on their toes, from toothless slaves and powerful merchants, to King Miginath and his trusted allies. Traveling is discouraged by harsh stormy rainy falls, snow cold winters, and roads turns into knee deep muddy trails in spring. Most people will never leave their shire, let alone, some have never put their foot outside their village boundaries. Strangers are met with suspicion, news and gossip are welcome, magic is against the law, witches are burned, and Lords are keeping their slaves and peasants in tight control while fighting off threats from neighboring noble clans. This is life on Hârn where your heroic characters are set into play.

The purpose of this gathering is to find an additional 3-4 players for an ongoing group. Initially we will be playing Adventurer’s League 5e games; beginning with Lost Mine of Phandelver. In time we hope to branch out to less official adventures and possibly other game systems (such as Champions and Cyberpunk 2020 to name a few.)

At this initial meeting we’ll introduce ourselves to one another. Discussions will cover experience levels, roleplaying style, characters of interest, availability, and goals. If we seem to work well together we can begin character creation.

Lost lands setting, OSR D&D style world - Like a Conan/ Lord of the Rings themed world - NOT superhero high fantasy like Pathfinders Golorion & WOTCs Feyrun

          I am looking for mature players willing to immerse themselves in a setting where western philosophy and ideologies are foreign.  This is a game that the wrong words or action could cost a person the lives of their spouse, children and selves.  Here honor is one of the most important aspects of life, and a person has to concern themselves with not only their personal honor but more importantly the honor of their family.  Unlike many role-playing games combat and politics are very lethal.  Do you have the ability to actually "role-play" in a world who places import on ideals that are not the norms of your real lives?

         This weekly game requires players who can commit to regular on time play.  They must be respectful of everyone who participates at all time both in game and outside of the game.  Bullying and discrimination will not be tolerated.  If you love to role play, are mature, can dedicate your time and energy to create an epic campaign and have an interest in Eastern Feudal mythology, they may be a great fit for you.

          The game I am running is called The Lotus.  This is a mystical fantasy game set in a world that draws greatly from the Feudal Japan era, as well as several other Far Eastern civilizations around the same period.  The game includes magic, non-human creatures, the spirit realm, etc.

The character creation system is pointed based.  Starting Attributes called Rings (and Traits) begin at 2 (this is average, each statistic has a normal range of 1-5; 1 is poor/ noticeably below average) and 3 is noticeably above average, a 4 is what gifted individuals would have while a 5 is the human maximum possessed by a relatively small amount of people) but the players choice of family and profession will adjust their Traits and possible a Ring.  The profession will provide each player with stating skills, Honor Rating, and equipment (called an outfit).  Players will have an opportunity to take some advantages/ disadvantages (which provides extra points; limited) and points to modify their character.  All choices will be subject to GM approval.  Other Campaign types will have different restrictions see below.

This game like all games is not for everyone, and the role-playing will require each player to more than likely step out of their rpg comfort zone, at least if they have never played a game that puts so much emphases on Honor, Bushido, and the Celestial Order (more of the clan and families than the character).  The combat is severely dangerous where one fight could mean the end of your character no matter what their experience.  Failure may also prove to be fatal depending on the situation, the clan, the lord, etc.  Won’t to try something new?  Let me know and you will be able to begin to learn more about this world and prepare for the clan and character each of you will make.

The Campaign

 Players have all recently been assigned to work for a young and relatively new Emerald Magistrate Kakita Mayoko. The Start date of the Campaign is the year 1019, the 1st day of the month of Doji.  Your characters have recently arrived at Kyuden Ikoma a city within the Lion Clans provinces.  Not any of you know what to actually expect, but from what you have heard Kakita Mayoko is a courtier of the Crane, who once left a good impression at the Court of Kyuden Seppun.  It is a great honor to work for someone like her.  You've all heard tales that she also happens to be one of the most attractive women in the realm, which must be a difficult title, since everyone has heard the Crane has such an assortment of beautiful women within their clan that ever emperor has married a Crane.  That or their manipulative actions in the courts is the underlying reason each emperor calls a Crane mother.

Magistrates operate with the authority of the Emperor through the leadership of the Emerald Champion Doji Satsume, the Champion of the Crane.  Emerald Magistrates are responsible for dealing with many types of crimes throughout the Empire, as well as collecting the Imperial Taxes.  What Kakita Mayoko well be doing and thus what assignments you take are still to be determined.  That is if you make a good enough impression for her to receive you.  To not be received would be a great dishonor to your Clan and Family.  You each hope not to stain your family's name.

I am running a game of Pathfinder, specifically Reign of Winter the campaign, and I alternate this game with Dark Ages Vampire, specifically the Transylvanian Chronicles. Our group is called RealmQuest, and we're based in Washington, DC. Looking to fill one seat with someone who'd like to jump into a high level campaign that will probably take about a year to conclude, before we roll up new lowbies, and start over from Level 3. By high-level, I just mean that we are currently in the middle of a long story arc, and you would start your PC at about the same level as the rest of the party.

We play about every other Sunday, from noon to 6 pm. We schedule game Sundays using doodle, to try to pick dates that work for everyone. We're playing DnD 3.5E, Forgotten Realms campaign setting, but we'll be shifting to Pathfinder at the start of the next campaign.

Our group is a bit of a sausage factory, but not by design. We don't care if you're a guy or a gal - just that you're based in the DC metro area, and you like to play a game that's got a deep story, and is about 50/50% combat/storytelling. Some DnD experience is preferred, but not essential. We've got a few DMs, and we rotate through them, each doing an arc of about 3-10 games, before we switch off. We're not looking for DMs specifically, but if you like to do that too, you can join the rotation. I mostly mention it here because, in our group, a player can expect to experience a range of DMing styles.

Our group is stable and low drama, and we'd like to keep it that way. If it matters to you, the age range is wide, from 20s to 50s. A wide range of experience too; as some have played with us for more than 5 years, while others barely more than 1 or 2. So we believe that anyone would feel welcome here.

We run a fairly modern game, using Obsidian Portal, Roll20, GoogleDrive, and Doodle. Some meet together to play, and others Skype in - so you would have to own a laptop - but we can teach you the rest.

I am looking for a narrative focused group, or ongoing campaign, running on Fridays at GMT 21:00 till (at max) Saturday GMT 2:00 .

I guess at this point you could call me a seasoned role player, I started with a podcast group called Steam Steel and Murder during university and have been both a player and GM ever since. I enjoy a plethora of games and value both more traditional systems such as D20 and DnD along with modern rules light games such as Fate, PDQ, Quags and simple home brews.

Recently my regular group has abandoned our Friday time slot and that has left a gap in my schedule I would like to fill. In games I like to play interesting characters over competent characters, in a DnD game I am that person who really wants to make X prestige class work and have fun interacting with others while doing it. While in something like Fate I tend to prefer playing the Dr Watson to someone else's Holmes.

I am a forceful personality and tend to find I play best when supporting another character as I enjoy failing as much as winning so long as the story twists and turns with such events.

If anyone has a slot for a person with a terrible British accent during the times of 21:00 GMT and 02:00 GMT Friday-Saturday on skype, team speak or any other VOIP, let me know what kind of game you're running, what tone you want to set and if you have any recorded games I can listen to to get a feel for your style of game.

I haven't played Pathfinder or any other games, but I'm up for anything if it's fun.
