Confused newbie
November 2010
Hello Liondriel! There are no dumb questions. Obsidian Portal can be whatever you want it to be. It's an incredibly powerful tool that can be used to track the status of offline campaigns, but it can be used for online ones as well. I'd know…

I think I managed to throw it together. I'm very happy about how this all turned out. Now I just got to try and figure out what else would be absolutely awesome to have and try and innovate it. HUZZAH FOR INVENTING!

Hey Neithan, Your PCs can actually make the wiki on the website, all by their onesies. That's the beauty of the collaborative nature of the wiki!

Chainsaw, thanks for stepping in and polishing the idea! I'm super stoked about how your HTML turned out. Much cleaner than what I cobbled together. I was trying to go for a Percent fill, to make updating easier (Either linearly related or invers…

Addressing my absence
November 2010
Dusk, the only way you could lose us is if you were the first man on Mars. And you stayed. Although even then, I think the astronauts have super-wifi, so I'm not so sure you'd be able to get rid of us even then.

Mike, I had been wondering why I started having a niggling sense of foreboding, followed by an intense curiosity as to why I hadn't seen you around for a while. This place has been very different without your presence, and I think there is a sol…

The biggest challenge I had was getting the XP bar to fill from the left. I Don't know if there's a good way to get the XP bar to blend on anything that isn't a white background (At least that I can think of at the moment.) I wonder if there is an…

Alatheon, I think your best bet is going to be taking the image source for the XP bar background and removing the white space to make it transparent. It'll blend better with the background that way (although my solution won't be the prettiest fo…

I'm free up all day as well. I'm currently just monkeying around with Maptool and getting comfortable with it all. Whatever is best for the group is good for me.

Your best bet is going to be getting Master Saw in here to see if they can play nice with each other.

I know, right? I'm so pumped to actually play! That's fine! Enjoy the code! 'swhat it's here for. I'm toying around with new forms of displaying it. I think it's a nifty little addition... I have no idea how to make it behave kindly with the…

Hahaha... I think there's going to be bits of personality that everyone is going to have trouble getting over, and I think that's going to generate an awesome bonding/RP experience. (I wish I could take a nap..)

BTW, I love what you did with the equipment idea. That just makes me want to build a virtual "Backpack" for all my consumables, but that may be pushing a good idea too far :P

Too true! I'm actually being slightly ridiculous and trying to combine the two, just for the heck of it. Combining My Bardiche with the XP bar idea... but I can't get the Bardiche to be outlined *AND* have a transparent body.

Gaaran: That's phenomenal! Also, I do like the first one you threw together. I fear that the second might be too bulky. a quick PNG conversion later, and "voila!":http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaigns/ragged-vestiges/characters/aurek-stronghawk…

It's got a width percentage, it's just set at 50%, because that's the last value I was testing at. I'm not happy with the frame, but I don't have anything better :(

It's the knowledge behind the use of the tools that counts. A hammer does not a good screwdriver make. Good luck using it as one :) That's pretty impressive. Finished my XP bar, btw, Gaaran. I just need a better container for it :(

I've worked with Paint.net before, but Gimp confused the heck out of me. Pixlr.com is actually pretty powerful. It's where I've done most of the graphic work for my wikis, and this one as well!

So we've got a Petty bard (Not a Tom Petty bard, I hope), a Worldly Monk, an Embittered Rogue, a Compassionate Cleric, and an Inquisitive Barbarian. We've got our work cut out for us. Good morning Gaaran! CS5 eh? What tools? I'm jealous. I've…

Excellent! I've only ever seen one character realize their full potential, and it marked me forever. I'd love to see the evolution of everyone in this group, actually. They're all unique individuals with some great ideas.

At a guess, mayhem would happen :) But Yeah... Aurek won't be the easiest person to kill, but I think that Tyson is a much deadlier opponent. Much more disciplined.

I've never played a monk. I can see it being fun, though. I'm currently looking through classes, seeing if I can't uncover an alternative class to play, just in case Aurek bites it :( I've never played a Barbarian before.

Druids... ah druids. My Fiancee started a druid, but my laptop cant render NWN2 past the initial house :( I'll have to build her a tower or set her up on mine.

Yeah... I never finished Neverwinter. NWN2 neither. Turns out, you can render the game unwinnable if you're really silly like me and think playing a duelist is a cracker-jack idea. I never stood a chance against that dragon...

I blame House. He's addicted. And I thought I was staying up late going to bed at 11:30. I couldn't help it! Burn Notice came back! (If there is one show on television that absolutely makes me want to play in a modern campaign, that one is it.)

Potentially. It's bloody Noon, innit? That lazy bugger. Is there anything that needs to be taken care of prior to our session tomorrow?
