@Alex, There is something still residual about sticky forums. You cant make new ones sticky, but several of those that were previously still stay at the top of the forum list.

You went to the "right" place. In the Problems section, if a thread is marked as assigned then when you open it, there will be a status and # in the upper right area. That's as much as I can determine.
