As a GM, I encourage players to craft their backstories and build their own little niche of the world. Some players are better at this than others, but one thing I've continually felt that our wiki misses out on is the ability for a player to have "GM status" on an individual page or series of pages. Right now, I can make a player a Co-GM, but then they gain GM-level access to the entire wiki. What I mean is that it would be nice for them to have all the options and features that I have (such as adding other players to GM secrets and reading the GM only text of a page) for some pages **but not all**. That way they can moderate which other players have or do not have access to the secret parts of their backstory, kingdom, or what have you, and for such a thing to be much smoother, rather than requiring an unnecessary level of mediation.

I only ask because those are important elements in the request, and I am not in a campaign with an Ascendant GM other than my own so I can't check on this.
I do agree that page-level GM status is not the right approach, however if the elements I mentioned above aren't available, perhaps those aspects would solve the issue well and provide a better means for players providing secret elements as well as the GM.
To the original poster, this feature is easy for players and GM's to leverage. I would recommend exploring it with one of your players, and then present it (with a brief explanation) to the assembled group at a session. I have found that explaining and demonstrating a feature to the players tends to increase the adoption rate considerably, but that is just my experience - your group may be different.
